Yep, I’m delinquent with Senior Portrait Prices…I hope it’s worth the wait!

July 20th, 2010 Admin No comments

Times have changed.  So, now I’m re-writing the book on senior portrait photography because I’ve been with you a long time already, photographing specs of time in your life.  Yep, I’m delinquent.  These things take time but  you will save and get some cool stuff.

I’ve long thought that senior portraits were overpriced and you didn’t get much for your money (try and find another photographer saying that!)  I tried to get my senior photographers to adapt the principle for years but it just didn’t happen – until now.

So I’m taking charge.  Things will now be done my way.  And I’m all ears on your thoughts and ideas on my new fluid method of pricing senior portrait photography.  You’ve seen this method of pricing before as you went through all the previous school pictures.  Some refer to them as sheets or units.  I’d like to introduce you to SENIOR PORTRAIT BLOCKS .  These are different configurations of sizes printed on an 8×10 “block”.  No more packages with a certain number of 5×7’s, 8×10’s, or wallets.  Finally, you can get exactly what you want without having to buy more than you really want.

So here they are.  Let me know what you think.  My personal email is Rick@RickBlackPhoto.com.  Just put Senior Portraits in the email subject heading.

“Keep It Simple“  – We know it’s tough out there.  We don’t want your last dollar, but you really should have senior portrait memories.  This keep it simple session will keep your family and friends happy.  Just get ‘er done.  Relatively painless for your wallet too!  This session includes;  Traditional Head and Shoulder poses (maybe a couple of others)…..proofs posted online…..5 Senior Portrait Blocks…..$159

“PARK PLACE” – Take a walk with our photographer with this selection.  We’ll take care of the traditional yearbook thing, then use your look for more inside sessions, plus take a walk outdoors.  Bring two additional clothing looks along.  This session includes proofs posted online…..up to 60 minutes of camera time…..a display folio with 8 portraits of your choice…..10 Senior Portrait Blocks…..$299

“MAIN STREET” – You’ll really get some “UMMF” with this package!  After all, we are located on Main Street.  We are going to be yours for up to 90 minutes…so figure on the traditional shots, but bring along up to 3 clothing selections and it’s time to have fun!  Includes studio session and a location – park or nearby location.  We are open to your ideas.  With this session you can check out your proofs online.  Also includes a “Senior Magazine”, display folio with 8 4×5 portraits, plus 14 Senior Portrait Blocks…..all for just $399

“SENIOR MOTION” – This is our version of a “WOW” session!  Bring up to 4 clothing looks and you will get up to 2 hours of camera time AND we are going to produce a professionally mixed video of your Senior Portrait Session!…..and here’s the best part:  We can add your favorite photos, maybe even video clips, sayings, mottos, slick graphic effects and music to your pro video.  This is great for your Facebook page and so many other things!  SENIOR MOTION includes Personalized Senior Magazine, display folio w/8 portraits, the SENIOR MOTION VIDEO link, PLUS a total of 18 SENIOR PORTRAIT BLOCKS…..Get it all…..$549

So there you have it.  Prices are much less than last year.  You’ll get more, and you’ll get new Senior Portrait products!  Drop me an email with your thoughts or call the studio and leave a message to schedule your senior portrait session.  I’ll post the Senior Portrait Block configurations soon and some of our new product ideas.

Little Leopards Football Action – Where It All Begins

October 30th, 2009 Admin No comments

Any great football program has a feeder program. The Louisville Little Leopards is the breeding ground for the success and the accomplishments of the Louisville Leopards. The Louisville football program is used as a model by other leagues across the country because of the repeated success of the Louisville Leopard football program.

What better place to post some Little Leopard football game action than right with the “Big” Leopards. You’ll find the Rams vs Packers and the Chiefs vs Cowboys. More great players learning the game right – soon to be coming your way on a future Friday night.

Hats off to the players, volunteer coaches, cheerleaders, cheer advisers, and parents!

Who Shoots The Action?

October 28th, 2009 Admin No comments

It’s about time I mentioned the great photographers who go to work, not only for me, but for you too. It’s not really work though. These guys actually played the game – they understand it, and they still live it and sleep it. I do too, but I can’t handle all the events by myself so I’m thankful to these guys and their talents.

So, meet Mike McCoy. He’s been shooting for me since 1997. Read more…

More product ideas for game photos…

October 16th, 2009 Admin No comments

I’ve mentioned the single or multiple image 18 x 24 posters, and the 8×24 posters with openings for 4 images. But I got to thinking, what about smaller items. We produce photo key chains and fridge or locker magnets by the hundreds. It might be a pretty cool thing to put your favorite player’s game action photo in a photo key chain or on a fridge or locker magnet. I’m all ears if you have any ideas. Post your comments and ideas here please.

About Game Action Photography…

Well it’s about time I finally made the first post on this new RickBlackPhoto.com blog.  I’ve been so busy shooting and posting game photos I’m embarrassed to say I don’t even have the price list yet.  Don’t worry – it won’t be outrageous.  You should be able to see it in the next couple days.

Football action photography is definitely challenging.  I’ve been shooting football action since the early ’90s.  Hundreds of games! Read more…
